 City Run

Torino City Run is a competitive race for FIDAL and Runcard holders. It has a non-competitive section and a recreational walk section, open to all, on an urban route of approximately 8 km, starting and finishing in Piazza Castello.
It is an opportunity to experience the city in complete safety (the route is totally closed to traffic), offering a day dedicated to outdoor fitness in conjunction with the Marathon event.

Every event organised by Team Marathon SSD and Torino Road Runners ASD helps to support initiatives identified by the Piedmont Cancer Research Foundation through fundraising from registration fees; participants will receive transparent information regarding sums donated to the charity.

Team Marathon Società Sportiva Dilettantistica, a limited liability society affiliated to the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL), code TO271, in collaboration with the Torino Road Runners Associazione Sportiva Dilettantistica, affiliated to the Italian Athletics Federation (FIDAL), code TO280 (hereinafter the “Organising Committee”), organises the 2nd edition of the cross-city event officially named “Torino City Run”, a regional FIDAL event and a national UISP phase 2 road race with a distance of 9.5 km.

By registering for the TORINO CITY RUN, the athlete declares that he or she knows and unconditionally accepts these regulations, and is aware that participation in the TORINO CITY RUN and/or sports events in general is potentially a risky activity. The athlete also declares that they accept all risks arising from their participation in the event: falls, collisions with vehicles, runners, spectators or others, weather conditions, traffic and road conditions and all other known and assumed risks. By sending the online registration form, the athlete releases the Organisers from any present and future claims or liability of any kind, including damage to persons and/or objects, known or unknown, arising from their participation in the event, not attributable to the organising committee.

Participation in the races entails registered participants’ full acceptance of every part of these regulations. Competitors are also required to comply with the Highway Code once the time limit is reached. By registering, all participants undertake to comply with these regulations, and release the organisers from any civil or penal liability for any incident or accident, damage to persons or property caused by them or deriving from their actions, which may occur during the event and are not attributable to the organisers.

By registering for the competitive section of the TORINO CITY RUN, athletes declare and take responsibility for ensuring that their FIDAL membership -STANDARD or EPS RUNCARD, FIDAL-affiliated UISP-EPS and MEDICAL CERTIFICATE FOR LIGHT ATHLETICS – are valid for the date of the event. In the case that these are not verified by the athlete or the society to which they belong, the participant undertakes to renew them or ensure that they are renewed prior to the date of the event. No refund will be given by the organisers where a registered participant fails to comply with the above.

By registering for the TORINO CITY RUN (competitive and non-competitive sections), the participant declares that he or she has no known previous medical conditions or injuries which may put them at risk in the course of the event.
The athlete also certifies that there are no sports-related, civil and/or penal sanctions for doping pertinent to them, and declares that they have not taken – and will not take – substances listed by the World Antidoping Agency (WADA). Participants are reminded that, in accordance with applicable federation rules, they may be subject to antidoping checks by the race authorities.

By registering, all participants of TORINO CITY RUN undertake to comply with the health and safety regulations (ordinary and extraordinary) in place on the date of the event, including any measures issued by specific decrees/laws and/or Prime Ministerial Decrees.
Pursuant to article 34 of the Rules for the Organisation of Events issued by the Italian Athletics Federation, the event is open to all athletes aged 20 and over belonging to the following categories:

1 – COMPETITIVE SECTION

Members of sports associations affiliated to FIDAL for the 2022 season, in the categories Promesse (age 20-22), Senior (23-24) and Master (M/F35, M/F40, M/F45, M/F50, M/F55, M/F60, M65/F65 and above, M70, M75 and above), in possession of a PROFESSIONAL medical certificate for LIGHT ATHLETICS valid on the date of the event;

Members of sports associations affiliated with UISP (Italian Association of Sport for All) for the 2022 season (light athletics, activity code 01A, 01B, 01E) or individual members (membership is granted directly by the relevant local UISP committee) in possession of a PROFESSIONAL medical certificate for LIGHT ATHLETICS valid on the date of the event (the certificate must be uploaded on the registration form or handed to the Organising Committee no later than 10 days before the competition);

Members of sports associations affiliated with a Sports Promotion Body (EPS) that has signed an agreement with FIDAL for the 2022 season (light athletics) or individual members (membership is granted directly by the relevant EPS committee) in possession of an EPS RUNCARD (www.runcard.com) and a PROFESSIONAL medical certificate for LIGHT ATHLETICS valid on the date of the event (the certificate must be uploaded on the registration form or handed to the Organising Committee no later than 10 days before the competition);

·ON-MEMBERS of sports associations affiliated with FIDAL or a Sports Promotion Body that has signed an agreement with FIDAL for the 2022 season in possession of a STANDARD RUNCARD (www.runcard.com) and a PROFESSIONAL medical certificate for LIGHT ATHLETICS/HEALTH FORM valid on the date of the event (the certificate must be uploaded on the registration form or handed to the Organising Committee no later than 10 days before the competition);

2 – NON-COMPETITIVE SECTION

NON-MEMBERS of sports associations affiliated with FIDAL or a Sports Promotion Body that has signed an agreement with FIDAL for the 2022 season.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR TRIATHLETES
TRIATHLETES who are members of FITRI may only take part in the non-competitive section. To take part in the competitive section, you must be in possession of a STANDARD RUNCARD valid for the date of the event.
Remember that the professional medical certificate must be valid for the date of the event and bear the title “LIGHT ATHLETICS” (competitive section).
A professional medical certificate for TRIATHLON only will not be considered valid, because it pertains solely to the Italian Triathlon Federation.

Registration is free of charge for wheelchair athletes registered with CIP and members of FISPES (deadline 21 October 2022);

€15 – promotional fee valid until 2 October 2022;
€18 – from 3 to 30 October 2022;
€20 – from 31 October to 6 November 2022

NB: Registration for the Torino City Run will be suspended from 14:00 on 2 November to 3 November 2022 and will reopen at the Village from 4 November at 14:30 to 5 November at 19:00.

  • Payments can be made at the offices of Torino Road Runners ASD at Via Guido Boggiani 4, Turin (until 24 October 2022, Wednesdays and Fridays from 16:00 to 20:00, closed for holidays from 1 to 31 August) – by cash, POS or Satispay;
  • Online at Endu.net (until 23:59 on 24 October 2022) – by credit card (except Amex), PayPal, bank transfer or Satispay.
    NB: This method of payment is subject to commissions.
  • At the Passion Sport shop in corso Regina Margherita 22 / F – Turin (until 12:00 on Wednesday 2 November 2022, shop opening hours) – payment in cash;
  • At the RUN shop in corso Raffaello 29 / B – Turin (until 12:00 on Wednesday 2 November 2022, shop opening hours) – payment in cash;
  • At the RUN shop in corso Unione Sovietica 339 – Turin (until 12:00 on Wednesday 2 November 2022, shop opening hours) – payment in cash;
  • At Torino City Marathon Village at the following times (cash or Satispay)
    – Friday 4 November 2022 from 14:30 to 19:00;
    – Saturday 5 November from 10:00 to 19:00;
    – Sunday 6 November from 07:30 to 08:45 (for exceptional circumstances only).
You can check the status of your registration by following the instructions on www.torinocitymarathon.it. Bib numbers will be allocated just before the race; a few days ahead, all athletes duly registered will receive an email which is valid as an official letter of confirmation. The email will contain all the essential instructions for collecting bibs and taking part in the race. It is not necessary to print the email; you can present it on a smartphone or tablet.
Race bibs will be distributed at the Torino City Marathon Village located in Palazzo Carignano, on the side of Piazza Carlo Alberto, at the times indicated below:

  • Friday 4 November 2022, 14:30 to 19:00;
  • Saturday 5 November 2022, 10:00 to 19:00;
  • Sunday 6 November 2022, 07:30 to 08:30.

Documents needed for collection of bibs:

COMPETITIVE SECTION

  • FIDAL card (paper/digital receipt issued by your association), FIDAL STANDARD RUNCARD, UISP or EPS card with an agreement with FIDAL (light athletics).
  • For holders of the STANDARD or EPS RUNCARD, a copy of your PROFESSIONAL MEDICAL CERTIFICATE for LIGHT ATHLETICS (if this was not provided at the time of registration);
  • Identity document, authorisation or proof of payment.

NON-COMPETITIVE SECTION

  • Registration confirmation letter or email from Endu;
  • Identity document, authorisation or proof of payment.

Participants can leave bags of clothing in the dedicated area at the start of the race, and collect them from the same place afterwards. The organisers decline any responsibility for the loss of valuables and/or money.

A final refreshment will be set up with water, saline supplements and solid foods.

The race will be timed using the SDAM system (Endu.net) – My Laps, which will indicate official and real times.

All runners in the competitive section will receive a chip attached to their race bib. The following classifications apply:

  • General finish order, calculated from official times;
  • GENERAL classification;
  • CATEGORY classification;
Official prize giving will start at 10:00: the first five women and the first five men in the GENERAL classification will be received onstage. All other classifiers and large associations can view the results published in real time on Endu.net and go to the stand next to the stage to collect their prizes.

NB: Uncollected prizes will not be sent to your home and you will not receive any communication about failure to collect. Any prizes not collected during the event will not be awarded afterwards.

All arrivals at the finish line will be invited to print their official certificates on Endu.net.

Fees are not refundable if the athlete collects a bib and race pack but is unable to take part.
In the event that a runner is unable to compete for any reason, there are two options for informing the organisation:

  • Transfer the registration to TORINO CITY RUN 2023, on payment of a €5 supplement for administration costs. Notice and proof of payment must arrive without fail by 31 October 2022, at iscrizioni@torinocitymarathon.it.

NB: Fees may be transferred to the subsequent year only once.

Proof is required in the form of an email with copy of the bank transfer. The secretary will deal with such requests the week after the event.

Transfer the registration to another person by 31/10/2022 by emailing iscrizioni@torinocitymarathon.it. The athlete transferring the registration must inform the organisation without fail by email to iscrizioni@torinocitymarathon.it, giving official notice of his or her intention to withdraw and transfer the registration, and including the details of the person replacing them (first name, surname, date of birth, FIDAL/RUNCARD number etc). The person taking over the registration must complete a new registration form with all their personal details and membership or Runcard number (remember that STANDARD and EPS RUNCARDs must always be accompanied by a copy of the professional medical certificate for athletics). Registration may be transferred to another athlete only in the 2022 edition of the event, and only once. Transferred registrations may not be combined with any other special fees or conditions.

If the event is cancelled, postponed to another date and/or otherwise does not take place for reasons not caused by and/or attributable to the organisers, including the withdrawal of permission by the public authorities for any reason, registered participants may not claim from Team Marathon SSD, Torino Road Runners ASD or other co-organisers any reimbursement of expenses sustained or registration fees.
Athletes forgo any claim to compensation for damage and/or reimbursement and/or any refund for monetary damage suffered.
Complaints regarding the results or organisation of a race should be addressed to the Race Arbitrator within 30 minutes of the official announcement of the results. The Organising Committee is required to ensure that the time of announcing all results is recorded.

RTI 8.7 – Complaints to the Appeal Panel must be made in writing within 30 minutes:

8.7.1 – of the official announcement of the result corrected on decision of the Arbitrator;
8.7.2 – of the negative response to the complainant, where the result is not corrected.

Complaints must be made in writing by the athlete, another person acting on their behalf or an official representative of the team, and must be accompanied by a deposit of $100 USD or the equivalent, which will be retained if the complaint is not upheld.

The registered participant is responsible for ownership and safekeeping of their race bib, and has the right to make use of all the facilities mentioned in this document and communicated subsequently.

  • In the case of a runner taking part without a race bib, in addition to being held responsible for damage to people and property, including him/herself, they will incur sports sanctions imposed by the federation and may be liable to criminal sanctions for theft (article 624 penal code).
  • In the case of a runner taking part with a counterfeit or otherwise non-compliant race bib, in addition to being held responsible as stated above, they will incur sports sanctions imposed by the federation and may be liable to criminal sanctions for theft (article 624 penal code) or alternatively for fraud (article 640 penal code).

In cases a) and b) above, participants may be liable for sanctions for non-observance of instructions by the authorities (article 650 penal code). The cases mentioned here will be determined solely by the verification of photographic and/or video footage.
